Hope for the Future Ministries financial needs

Running a ministry like Hope for the Future takes a lot of money. During a recession this gets worse, as more people are unemployed and need the food and support that is available, yet some of the people who usually support the ministry are losing their jobs, or overtime, with the result that less money is donated to the ministry.

Hope for the Future Ministries is looking to both churches and individuals for financial support.

It may come as a surprise, but Hope for the Future Ministries costs a lot to run. Many people think most of the food is donated to the ministry, so it can't cost that much to run. However there is even a cost involved in collecting free food. The gas for the van has to be paid for and the van has to be serviced. Not all food is donated, some is purchased by the ministry.

Other low cost items start to add up when used on the scale of Hope for the Future Ministries.

How much does it cost to run the ministry for one week?
Please note that although the ministry gives out over 700 hot meals and 2500 pantry bags per week (2 years ago this was 500 hot meals and 2000 pantry bags per week), food costs are not shown here as this is only the costs. Remember not all food is donated, so often the cost of food will need to be added to these running costs.
